Kathakali is an upcoming Action entertainer movie, which is directed by Pandiraj and this movie is made in Tamil and Telugu Bilingually and going to release on January 14th, 2016 in both languages at the same time. This latest flick is directed by Pandiraj. Kathakali is now gearing up for a Pongal release. He was introduced by Vishal as a music director with the Movie Ambala. Produced under Vishal Film factory Banner, Pasanga Productions and Sri Thenandal Films. The makers are trying to bring the film to audience by Pongal.

The film also features Nassar, Karunas, Soori, Sreejith Ravi, Pawan, Madhusudhan Rao and Lakshmi Ramakrishnan in the supporting roles. Pandiraj announced for a new venture in May 2015.An official statement announced that work would begin on the film after Pandiraj had finished work on two other ongoing ventures, Pasanga 2 and Idhu Namma Aalu.

The first filming schedule began in July 2015, with Catherine Tresa joining the team as the lead heroine after talks with Keerthy Suresh were unsuccessful.

The cinematography is handled by Balasubramaniem and edited by Pradeep E Ragav.
