"A devastating fire broke out at a time when workers were sleeping inside a temporary structure".

"There was a fire caused probably by a short circuit at the barracks of labourers working on a tunnel project in Talwas in Chanderkote belt of Ramban district at around 1.00 am today", IGP Jammu, Danish Rana, said. "The reason of fire is being ascertained while the injured have been rushed to the district hospital and more details are awaited", said the top cop.

The cause of fire is still not known.

"We have identified six labourers from different states of India besides Jammu and Kashmir", Senior Superintendent of Police Randip Kumar told IBNS, adding that they are trying to identify other bodies. "A very tragic accident, my condolences to the families of the deceased", he tweeted.
