Simon Cowell has reportedly given the security guard who chased a burglar out of his home £1000.

Simon gave Mr. Mendes the card and money when they met in person so he could thank him for his bravery.

Simon previously admitted he feared for his young son's safety after being told his house had been burgled.

His Syco Company made "only" £28.6 million in its latest financial year compared to £71 million in the previous twelve months.

Cowell owns 40 percent of Syco and his dividend is expected to be 10 million pounds, less than half of the 24.3 million pounds he took home 12 months ago.

The company, also part owned by Sony, which has 50 percent of the shares, and Topshop boss Sir Philip Green, who has the remaining 10 percent, saw revenues fall after the U.S. version of "The X Factor" was axed.
