The Sundance Film Festival, the world's largest independent film festival, attracts thousands of cinema lovers and industry insiders to Park City, Utah for its annual showcase of the best independent moviemaking. Schlotman said taking the locally well-known chef along to prepare the meal is more cost-effective than renting a space and buying a meal there.

DEL BARCO: Well, you know, the films that open the festival are often the most high-profile - for example, "What Happened, Miss Simone?" the Netflix documentary about signer Nina Simone. It screens at 5:30 p.m.at the Eccles Theatre in Park City.

It has an impeccable record in promoting equality, diversity and inclusivity, but it does so by way of telling great stories, not by pointing fingers, said Redford, who was dressed as per the Sundance norm of casual sweater, blue jeans and cowboy boots.

He's most excited for the audience's reaction.

. "It wouldn't be the place you'd expect a festival to come".

One documentary attracting a lot of festival buzz is "Newtown", which explores the aftermath of the 2012 massacre that left 26 people dead, including 20 school children, in CT.

At the same time, Pohlman said, "Pulling into Main Street, the Kimball Art Center is now Samsung".

This year's lineup offers an array of films and documentaries that deal with timely issues such as U.S. gun violence and abortion. After the rise of Black Lives Matter movement, the subject matter could hardly be more topical and The Birth of a Nation is likely to find an appreciative audience.

"It's something we see in technology and other areas". I remember the next year chasing down "Rob" from Cloverfield on Main Street, because we all had just seen the film a few days before, and were surprised we found him. The festival - which includes question-and-answer sessions, a film competition and workshops - attempts to recognize emerging filmmakers and low-budget films.

Sundance has always embraced diversity because of its independent nature, he said, declining to address how mainstream Hollywood might replicate those demographics.

"That's something we're proud of, how we show diviertsty in the festival", he said.

Does independence naturally lead to diversity?

"They didn't have to correct us too much, but the last thing we wanted to do is tell them how it is". Artists are making films about what's on the public conversation. "All the stuff that NASA sent to the moon we had to build, so we had to build a lunar escape module, we had to build all of the spacesuits", he says.

He's not a fan of virtual reality yet and still loves the theater experience.

. Not only the many storytellers, screenwriters, producers, cinematographers, actors and filmmakers behind all of these movies, but also all the passionate cinephiles, critics, bloggers, journalists and supporters that make the journey up to Park City. "We don't take a position of advocacy". I'll aways think that's important.

He's not into the Oscars, only the work.

. Well, that premiered a year ago on opening night, now it's up for an Oscar. "I'm not into that".

"I can just see the headlines now", he half-joked. That's for Donald Trump to say!

Kenneth Lonergan, whose 2000 film "You Can Count on Me" won the grand jury Prize and was nominated for two Oscars, is already attracting attention for "Manchester by the Sea", starring Casey Affleck as a Boston handyman suddenly in charge of his teenage nephew.

Pellegrini backs City to thrive in challenging title race
In the reverse fixture, West Ham scored with two of their three shots on target, while City only scored with one of their eight. Both teams are exciting to watch and it should be a game filled with plenty of goals and entertainment.
