Dunkin’ Brands Group said Thursday that it signed a multi-unit store development agreement with two existing franchise groups to develop nine Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants and one multi-brand unit with Baskin-Robbins in Alabama over the next several years.

Existing franchisee Bluemont Group, LLC said it plans to develop five new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the Greater Birmingham area, specifically in Gadsden, Talladega, Anniston and Oxford. This group currently operates 22 restaurants throughout Tennessee in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Nashville, and will also be developing restaurants in Atlanta. Led by Dave Baumgartner, the team’s first Birmingham location is planned to open in summer 2017.

Meanwhile, Shri Ambe, LLC said it will develop four Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants, including one multi-brand unit with sister brand Baskin-Robbins, in Montgomery. This team currently operates one Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant in Auburn. This group’s next restaurant is planned to open in 2017. DNKN shares were up 1.4% in recent trade.
