Governors Ball 2016 Lineup Includes Kanye West, Jamie xx, Miguel, and More

There are plenty of hip-hop acts, punctuated by the return of Kanye West who also headlined in 2013.

Governors Ball, scheduled from June 3 to June 5 at Randall's Island Park, will be headlined by Kanye West, The Killers, and local alternative rock stars The Strokes. For 2016, Governors Ball announced Mac Miller, Jamie xx, Beck, Gary Clark Jr, Action Bronson, Miguel, Vince Staples, De La Soul, Joey Badass, and Vic Mensa as part of its festival.

Though the threat of rain loomed early in the week, and the weekend saw dark clouds and scattered showers, festival-goers remained mostly dry during Governors Ball 2015.

The band has played only sparingly in recent years, with lead singer Julian Casablancas pursuing a side project, although The Strokes performed at Governors Ball in 2014.

Yeezus just rose again, as did a chorus of "YEAAAAAAAAH!!!"-es from the followers of the Cult of Casablancas: the Governors Ball 2016 lineup is out, and it's the most heavy-hitting display of musical might the festival's seen in years".
