Notorious for his dislike of talking to reporters, Lynch hasn't commented on his tweet.

During a 2014 Sunday night game against the Cardinals, Lynch recorded the longest touchdown of his career.

The 29-year-old seems to suggest that in a tweet he posted Sunday night.

This was the clincher: a 67-yard touchdown run that involved too many broken tackles to count and one vicious stiff arm.

Lynch was the 12th pick by the Buffalo Bills in the 2007 NFL Draft, and was traded to Seattle at the beginning of the 2010 regular season.

Lynch won a Super Bowl with Seattle and played nine seasons in the NFL.

"Salute to my guy @MoneyLynch... It was an honor sharing the field with you", said Sherman. Then again, it never has been.

Lynch, who will be 30 at the start of the 2016 season, is coming off the least productive season of his career. He made four of his five Pro Bowls and became an All-Pro in 2012 with the Seahawks. Over his career, he accounted for 11,091 rushing and receiving yards. He accrued 9,112 yards and 74 touchdowns in his career.

Lynch will step aside after nine seasons.

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch appeared to announce his retirement Sunday in a very Beast Mode way - with relative silence. That deal ran through the 2017 season, but the next two years involved no guaranteed money.

"Replacing someone as special as Lynch is no small task for Seattle, but there's reason for the organization to still have high hopes, despite losing one of its franchise cornerstones". While he was hurt, Rawls romped.

Lynch is now 36th on the NFL's all-time rushing leader list, and has a strong case to become a future Pro Football Hall of Fame member.

If Lynch decides to be back in the next season of the NFL, Schneider said that he would be surprised.

Lynch returned for the NFC divisional playoff game against the Carolina Panthers but had little impact during the Seahawks' 31-24 loss to the Panthers. Those six carries and 20 yards will apparently be his final ones with the Seahawks and in the game.

The Seahawks will save $6.5 million against the salary cap with Lynch retiring (the same total that would have been saved had he been released, which the team was expected to likely do if Lynch had wanted to keep playing). He and the Seahawks assuredly would not have realized those numbers. He played in half his team's offensive snaps this past season.
