Outlast 2 Receives New Screenshot, Dev “In Full Control” This Time
Red Barrels wasted no time in rustling controversy with its first teaser for Outlast 2, the sequel to the horrifying first person adventure that released in 2014.
Outlast 2 doesn't have a hard release date yet, but the studio said that it's set to come out this fall.
"We're in full control of what we ship and when we ship it", says Red Barrels President Philippe Morin.
Outlast 2 will be a hotly anticipated sequel to one of the scariest games of all time, and we'll bring you more news on the game as it comes to us. "Because more than 3.5 million players have played the first game, we're now in a position to make decisions based on our ambitions".
Debuting in 2013, the original Outlast is a survival horror game that puts you in the role of a journalist who, armed only with a camera, investigates the goings on at a spooky mental asylum. But once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong. The devs describe it as "a twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets", adding that it "will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do".
Judging from the visual released, using weaponry might very well be possible.
