Police respond after woman found shot to death at Myrtle Beach Mall

Myrtle Beach authorities are investigating the death of a woman found slumped over in a vehicle as a homicide.

May Davis was shot in the parking lot of the Myrtle Beach Mall Friday afternoon during a mugging, according to her son-in-law, Luther Wells.

The call for the incident took place at around 12:30 p.m. ET, located near US 17 Business and near S.C. 22.

Wells told WMBF News that his wife was out shopping with Davis, her mother.

"We're waiting for the coroner to release his results before determining if it was a shooting", Denis said, according to Myrtle Beach Online.

"We don't have any reason to think that anybody is in danger", Lt. Denis said.

Police found blood in the auto, but Denis said that "people bleed for a variety of reasons".

Horry County Fire Rescue medics were called to the mall for a cardiac arrest patient, according to Battalion Chief Brian Van Aernem with HCFR.
