Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed continued to be in a critical condition on Thursday, a day after he was shifted to the ICU of the AIIMS, said hospital authorities. "He is presently sick, requiring oxygen therapy but hemodynamically stable", said Amit Gupta, spokesperson of AIIMS.

Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Friday, expressed grief over the tragic death of 10 construction workers in a fire incident that engulfed their residential barracks at Dalwas, near Chanderkote, early today.

Seventy-nine-year-old Mr. Sayeed was flown to Delhi on December 24 with complaints of fever and chest pain.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited him on Tuesday and wished him speedy recovery.

The team of experts monitoring Sayeed's condition include Dr Rita Sood (Professor of Medicines), Prof Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie (Endocrinologist), Dr Tulika Seth (Hematology) and Prof PN Dogra (Urology), among others.

Member Parliament and PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti in her New Year message has conveyed heartiest greetings and wishes to the people of the state.

However, Jammu and Kashmir deputy chief minister and BJP leader Nirmal Singh had questioned the use of the state flag.
