The Royal Enfield Bullet Electra 500 would use the engine of the Bullet 500 in the same state of tune
The Royal Enfield Bullet Electra 500 will come to the Indian shores by mid-2016 and will be slightly expensive than the current Royal Enfield Bullet 500.
RushLane reports that Royal Enfield is working on a Bullet Electra 500 which would be launched in the second half of 2016. Other than the cosmetics that is typical of the Electra model, it would be the same as the existing Bullet 500.
The Electra 500 is expected to get adjustable rear shocks
The basic differences between the RE Bullet 500 and the Bullet Electra 500 would be new colour options, chrome fenders, a new tail lamp, a new air filter box and a different set of tyres.
The new Royal Enfield Electra 500 will come with a 499cc, single cylinder, four-stroke, Twinspark, air-cooled engine churning out maximum power output of 26.1 bhp and maximum torque of 40.9 Nm, mated to five-speed constant mesh transmission, say reports. The Bullet Electra is now available only in the 350-avatarĀ outputting 19.8 bhp at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The front telescopic fork has 130 mm travel while the rear gas charged shocks (Electra's units are adjustable for preload) have 80 mm travel.
