Ex-Glee star Mark Salling arrested for 'possessing child porn'

"He was taken into custody this morning for possession of child porn", Officer Aareon Jefferson of the Los Angeles Police Department told People. His bail was then set at $20,000, according to his booking sheet, NBC News reports.

Mark Salling has been released from jail thanks to the help of loved ones.

In TMZ updated, it stated that the police also seized other electronic devices from Salling, which include cellphones and tablets.

Salling made his first TV appearance in 1999, in an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger. Preciado said she had no further details on the case, which will be turned over to prosecutors to decide whether to bring any formal charges against the actor.

When cops showed up at Mark Salling's home to search the premises the actor was reportedly "shocked".

In January 2013 he got in trouble with the police after his ex-girlfriend accused him of forcing her to have sex with him without a condom.

The 33-year-old actor was arrested in a Los Angeles neighborhood, just north of Burbank in Sunland, California.

Mark Salling is best known as Puck from 'Glee'.

Salling has had a few legal problems in the past. Although he denied the charges, it was later settled out of court for $2.7 million. In July, director Jace Alexander was arrested for "possessing and file-sharing illegal and obscene performances of sexual conduct by children less than 17 years of age".
